The Alps are calling....
However, I've just been advised by Greenflag Breakdown cover that they don't provide European cover to cars over 16 years old
Can anyone recommend any alternatives who would offer European wide cover on a vehicle over 16 years of age?
Or is it time to bite the bullet and buy a newer car: 🙁
ADAC...the German AA (and they use the AA in the UK)
Definitely cover old cars and only about 80 Euro a year from memory.
and if you read about them - are a nightmare to deal with unless you speak fluent german
Never needed them, but the registration process online was easy enough.
Thankfully the old Golf GTI didn't breakdown on the Nurburgring!
Thanks guys - but my German has a lot to be desired - even my english pretty rubbish!
Well - isn't google great
I only went with Green Flg last year because neither AA nor the RAC would go near an old car
I fell out with Green Flag years ago for ripping me off
However - both the AA and RAC offer single trip cover for very reasonable prices
Went with the RAC in the end - result!
what was the difference between single trip and multi though
RAC want 110 quid for my 7 year old van compared to 149 for the whole year
AA only want 60 quid though thats a bit better
We insured our bus for our trip to france both times with Euro tunnel. We did a crossing and they offered the insurance at the same time. Van is a 2000 VW t4.
