Ok so looking at booking a family holiday at Durinell (wassinger) in Holland
Firstly anyone been and whats it like (like a Dutch centerparcs)
However due to the wifes working commitments we need to be back the saturday morning which makes ferries a bit of a mess so considering going out Hull - Rotterdam overnight then on way back we will have to drive through Belgium to get a ferry Dunkirk to Dover, then a blast around M25 and M1, its a long old drive but broken up by the ferry, and ferries are significantly cheaper doing it this way (I would do Dunkirk in booth directions but we would loose 2 days holiday to travelling effectively)

Google is showing about a 3h 20m drive, any one done it, how long, what are the roads like and anywhere to stop en route (Im thinking maybe Antwerp or Bruges for some lunch)

I am going there in October, haven't been before so can only tell you I had it strongly recommended by several friends.
I am travelling from Nottingham and sailing Dover-Calais as this is what was included in the booking with Keycamp.

My friends who recommended the holiday drive from south Wales, Dover to Calais and say its about 4hrs on the other side.

Went to Duinrell 2 years ago the kids absolutely loved it, we had a great time as well. Never been to Centre Parcs for a holiday so don't know if it's similar. Theme park is good if you like rides(we went in October so queuing not really an issue), you need to pay for the swimming pool but again it was really good loads of flumes and a wave pool.

The town is walkable(10 mins) don't think we used the car for about 4 days just walked into the town bought the supplies then lugged them back to the caravan.
There is a beach a short drive away.
Our kids and my SO keep asking when can we go back pretty sure you will have a good time if you go.

Not sure about the drive to Dunkirk as we did Hull to Rotterdam.

The big issue will be Rotterdam. Depending on the time of the day/day of the week it'll be somewhere between really rather busy and a carpark. Travel out of commuting time and you should get round it in an hour, on a Friday afternoon I've taken 3 hours to do less than 20 miles.

Once clear of Rotterdam you can head for Antwerp - no experience of this during the day, but in the evening ( post 18:00 - 19:00 ) it has been OK.

Be aware of dual/single language signposting in Belgium as many places have 2 different names and only one of them will be on the signpost, depending on which side of French/Flemish line you happen to be on.

Past Antwerp it should, in my experience, be plain sailing all the way to Dunkirk.

One thing to mention, if you want to rely on a sat nav get a current map before you go. I drove back from Germany via Eindhoven/Antwerp last year with a couple of year old sat nav and Eindhoven was a completely different city and the main roads around Antwerp were also completely different.

Aside from that it's fairly short hop, as long as you don't go through the cities at peak times should be no problems.

If you want to stop Bruges is well worth a visit if you're into looking around historical cities, I wouldn't bother just stopping for lunch though, not worth the detour, traffic etc unless you're going to have a proper nosey.

As cranberry says, getting round Rotterdam at commute time is a bit of a nightmare - otherwise not too bad. Also can be a holdup approaching Antwerp as they are digging up the roads just now. I drive frequently The Hague to Paris, and never bother to detour into a town for lunch (stop at the first services S of Antwerp, or else first services in France 🙂 ), but Antwerp is nice and the city centre is not too much of a trek from the motorway, so do-able if you have time.
