had a bet with correct score but not sure if it will count as goal scored in extra time .

It will count. Time added on, for injuries/subs etc, is different to extra time.

So congrats!

There really are no easy games in international football are there?!

Martial though - French Theo Walcott?

good to hear it but as a frenchman even happier to be through to the next round .

yep no easy game .

Martial was ok 1st half but someone had to come off for Pogba .

No one apart from us wanted to spend £10m on Payet last year as he was too old to have a long term future (at 28!). Now at 29 I reckon we could £80m for him!

Be gentle with him. Given what West Ham paid for their new home, they have no idea of the value of anything now 😉

Jambalaya - money in football involving PL teams is about to go mad with the new TV payments. We're trying to buy Lacazette who hasn't even made the French team and Lyon have turned down a £32m bid - we'll find foreign teams putting big price tags on their players who are being targeted by PL teams.

Payet is in the French team and scoring from midfield, he's in our team - scoring and creating goals from midfield. We don't want to sell him so it will take a big bid to Let him go as any replacements are going to cost big money too.

But 80m.....

40m and you'll sell him I reckon.

Ok £80m might be a bit much, but it'll take a lot of money for him to go.

Thing is it's so hard to gauge a price these days. The headline figure could be £30-40m, but with addons, performance bonuses, image rights etc etc, it could actually be worth £10m more.

Maybe the PL clubs should look a bit more closely at Leicester's transfer model

Given the bottomless pockets of some of the bigger clubs, they just don't need to bother scouting clever. Just drop a big bag of money on the table, and all sorted.

Obviously once financial fair play gets here, that'll all be a thing of the past.

*cough*

It's the big one....well, relatively speaking.

England v Wales (BBC One / BBC One HD / S4C / S4C HD)
Ukraine v Northern Ireland (ITV / ITV HD)
Germany v Poland (ITV / ITV HD)

I am really looking forward to the Germany game, as I just think it will be a better game of football. Probably would call it for the Germans, just because they seem to turn it up once they get the first game out of the way. England Wales is a tough one to call. I've picked England above, but I am just going to do a double on Ger v Pol and Ukr v NI. I honestly think Wales might win, but not sure I want to commit to the bet. Possibly high scoring draw. I think Ukraine will be too strong for another plucky performance from Norn.

Now everyone pick up the nearest table, and throw it at Molgrips. We at war! 😀

Seaso I can't believe it wasn't picked up more widely. Apparently broadcast on normal tv coverage. One of the German players was asked about it at a press conference and said something like "oh come on 80% of you scratch your balls, its not a big deal" - well I have to say so do I but generally not when I am at work in full view of everyone and tv cameras 🙂

Good luck to Wales, may it be a decent game although I think it could be a nervy affair with neither side venturing too much

Hard one to predict this, though I'd expect England to be a bit sharper up front, clear failing last game so something they'll be looking to improve upon! Looking forward to it, should be a cracker!

Slovakia win puts England under pressure so they really need to step up this game.

Unfortunately Leicester's transfer model is now completely screwed. When they were shit, other clubs thought they were selling their players to a shit club, so asked shit money. Now they are PL Champions and in the CL, the whole process has shifted considerably. Now when they (LCFC) enquire about a player, the Clubs think, wow, our player must be good enough to play in the CL, so its double bubble!

So Woy is going with Stirling. No doubt because the headless chicken routine worked so well last time out. Also Kane - presumably to take the corners again.

Clueless!!!

Bookies were giving odds on whether Kane would take korners.

I just couldn't risk it.

Woy is not a risk taker is he?

England to win 3-0, Walker is going to have game of his life and play Bale off the park, Kane and Sterling will only last until half time, Vardy to replace Kane and get a double, Dier to get third from a freekick.......maybe

Would that be the feeling that we'll be going into Slovakia game on Monday needing a 5 0 win, or its the oh-so-familier limping home in abject disgrace routine?

On 5Live they're in about how Milner and G.Nev are going up to Sterling and putting an arm round him.

Seems a good omen if even his own team think his confidence is shattered.

The next Walcott.

Going off on a bit of a tangent: I wonder who makes those massive shirts? Who do you go to and ask 'I'd like a football shirt half the size of a football pitch please?'

As it looks like its a single piece of material

Oh dearie, dearie me....

Was just about to post - is there any chance we (Eng) might score in open play? Still a valid question. Now I don't know exactly how much woy is paid but it's patently obvious we are struggling to put the ball in the new. wtf is sterling doing on the pitch.

Good goal though...

Well Woys system is working well. Why is Sterling on the pitch? Other than putting an absolute sitter into Row Z, I haven't even heard his name mentioned. He's absolutely ****ing hopeless!!!!

Bales goal was an absolute peach though. Fair play. Give any more free kicks away and he looks like he could do that all day long

For not putting us 1-0 up yes

As said now on bbc the keeper should be saving that

Harston saying how a finisher would score - interrupted with "he's not a finihser though" 🙂

Indeed but still not deserved

England look unable to score though

Interesting second half with Wales able to counter as England go for it

Please dont go home so soon I like to see the dawn of false hope being cruelly crushed in a penalty shootout or a handball goal 😉

I played in goal for 30 years, and I'd never want a wall from 35 yards. The purpose of a wall is to stop a direct shot, means that a player has to either bend or dip a ball using spin and gravity. If you're close in, you can't blast it over a wall because you can't swerve it enough to get it down again, hence a wall slows the shot and gives the keeper a bit more time.

All it's done in this case is to mean he can't see the ball for 1/3 of it's travel. If he'd stood in the middle of the goal with no wall and let him shoot - he'd have thrown his hat on it.

Should still have saved it.

Only chance all game, defended for 45mins, not really in it and then a"lucky" goal from a long range free kick

No one could argue wales were the better side and I dont want england to win.

So what? Wales took their chance, England haven't. And there's not anything novel about absorbing pressure and hitting a team on the break.
