OK, got a espresso machine as a pressie from my lovely family in-law. Very nice of them (although the hints for a set ksyrium elites obviously fell on deaf ears). I now want to show off my (awesome) milk-frothing skills to all that visit us, but can't find a suitable metal jug. Looked in the supermarkets and John Lewis at the weekend but nothing. Currently using a pyrex jug but you can't feel the temperature of the milk whilst frothing, so I have to keep dipping a finger in to make sure I don't scald the milk. Not great. So, what do you lot use? Feel free to include links 🙂

Used them several times and they have been great.

I use a Gaggia ss jug and thermometer, I'm sure you will find one online. Temp of milk about 75 c.

Or find your local specialist shop like Two Day Coffee in Bristol who sell things like that in a real shop.

You'll want a jug thermometer, a tamper and a shot glass to get you going then?

Cheers - those look just the places. Bit galling to pay £4 postage for a £8 jug though. Machine has a tamper already fortunately, and I want to avoid using a thermometer as I never had one when I used to churn them out in a restaurant (always did it by feel of the jug) but good call on the shot glasses, and looks like I'll be able to find a shaker for my better halfs cappacinos from one of those links.

^this

I got my jug from a local kitchenware shop (Peter Maturi in Harrogate). I am sure a Google will list loads of online retailers.

I got my thermometer from a friend who was the manageress of a coffee shop chain. I am sure Lakeland will sell them or the same online retailers as above.

Single speed jugs - how niche is that?
