Has a 1 second launch window!

I wonder if it will find a huge monolith floating around.

That's impressive stuff, I for one eagerly await a future career with JMC.

I have one question:

When these 'expeditions' take off, what happens during the flight until it reaches its destination (8 years in this case I think)?

Is there a team watching all the time or does someone log on every now and then to see what's happening?  If it's the former I wonder if they've got any jobs going because that sounds like a great job!!

A spacon job isn't that glamorous, but can be a stepping stone to other positions. The esa "european space operations centre" (esoc) is based in Germany, and people are employed under local employment laws, so it is a little bit complicated now for British citizens to get jobs unless they already have rights to work in Germany (thanks to brexit).

While Cassini-Huygens was on the way to Titan there was a team finishing the software for the Huygens lander so it could be uploaded to the spacecraft.

And these probes follow complex trajectories getting gravitational slingshots off other planets/moons so they can do some observations of them while they're passing.

That’s impressive stuff, I for one eagerly await a future career with JMC.

Are you suitably qualified? Entry requirement needs a BSC as a minimum.
