Pistonheads and Mumsnet spring to mind as places where people put the world right via their particular interests.
Do other places exist like STW but for eg teachers, windsurfers, jigsaws, twitches or whatever - that are as extensive as this place?
Ukclimbing for well, climbing...
UK workshop
Song of the paddle
You'll between those two most of single-track are one or the other or both.
Snowheads for skiing and occasional snowboarding.
There’s a fair bit of running on Fetcheveryone. Nice community too.
Anything like STW but for mountain biking? 😀
Anything like STW but for mountain biking? 😀
Please explain this “mountain biking” thing you mention.
It’s kind of like gravel biking in that it’s done off road but it’s fun.
Motorhome fun. Use with caution. Can get a bit gammony but there's some lovely people there.
Whoa there boy what's this "gravel biking" you are on about.
DOA fantastic forum, the best, some proper wags on that one though!
Can't remember the forum where they used to (probably still do) out do each other with granny porn and other disturbing things. There was no moderation or censorship at all. It was a bear pit but surprisingly friendly if you could handle the humour!
4chan
Best of luck
diynot.com

rotten.com? (shudder)
moviechat.org they copied the IMDB forum content before it was shut down, so you have discussion and insight on films going back years, and still very active for new movies. It's where a head after watching a film.
Equivalent of STW, but for other activities.

You've basically got the triumvirate right there. STW is full of hand-wringing yogurt-knitters, PH is populated with knucklehead gammons, and MN is a nest of vipers who hate everyone.

I had minor dealings with a forum for people with a sexual interest in horses, the forum tagline was, and this is 100% true; “The place for people looking for a stable relationship”
^^ I'm not sure i'd admit to even "minor dealings" with such a website😲
Nay!
Tbh that was one of the safer forums I had cause to visit at that stage of my working life.
I spent time on this one which was grim, but also had a chat section; “What’s your favourite Motown song?” sticks out from there.

I suspect foal play.
Was there a section for stirrupteases?
Double post due to 501 error!

Is the place where everyone with a working interest in the countryside seem to hang out. It is a 50/50 mix of those who can see the problems facing the countryside and those which are the problem (IMHO of course 😉 ). Lots of lively debate on just about every topic under the sun and certainly far less one sided than can often seem to be on here or Pistonheads (taking the 2 extremes)
EDIT You will notice on the link above there is even a Strava Cyclists thread on the farming forum. Who'd of thunk it hey?
Walkhighlands - for hillwalking and long distance walks
And more Vix characters for websites..
TDPRI is good for guitar stuff, especially Telecasters. No politics or religion. Friendly and usually very helpful.
Nice place.
The Fretboard (UK based) is also ok, apart from half a dozen or so complete arseholes.
Basschat is good, but I've only just started using it.
SquierTalk and StratTalk are interesting and seem pleasant and helpful.
The Tamiya RC forum is excellent. Knowledgeable and friendly.
The Arrma forum is also a great resource and extremely helpful.
BGG (Board Game Geek) is superb.
and MN is a nest of vipers who hate everyone.
OT - My wife was a bridesmaid a while ago, and we spent the wedding weekend with the bridesmaids and bride's friends etc. The above description made me think about that weekend. One of them even recognised it - 'we'd rule the world if we could stop bitching about each other.'
PistonHeads - swap bikes for cars, move politically to the right. Bunch of rich-ish blokes with their toys and opinions.

Mostly 40-70, male, earns 50-150k.
I cannot think why we don't get more women on STW when Mumsnet is described as a 'nest of vipers' and illustrated with the fat slags.
You are not wrong there.
I'm reasonably certain that I originally got that term from Mumsnet itself.
UK climbing . Obvious
Pigeon watch, slightly less so as they watch for a purpose and diversify a lot.
