Yes, a few. The clues are usually there after sometimes years of open-minded observation, toying and background thought. But it takes a while for the tough puzzles to piece themselves together, they won't be forced by conscious effort. "Epiphany" is exactly the right word for the unexpected moment of realisation/understanding. It usually seems blindingly obvious too, like you've been resisting it and finally given up.
I'm systems analyst/designer, you see. A propensity for reflection is necessary for the job. But it creeps into one's general outlook...
