Hi I am diversifying my services to offer Business workplace hearing tests to help them comply with HSE Noise at Work Regs, along with this service I aim to take a course in Environmental Noise Assessments and would like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of Noise assessments or has had the service carried out and associated cost etc. This is part of my research into how I can bespoke my service and make sure I can offer better value and array of service including noise protection and advice in with the packages I want to tailor.

Institute of Acoustics are your best bet for the courses and professional membership and competency. The main issues with BS4142 and PPG 24 type services are that the market is pretty saturated with specialists that have many years acoustics abatement and management skills so it's a mature market you are breaking into to.

Costs vary massively depending upon the planning consents and site situations, 24 hour running, day time and night time measurements, locations of sensitive receptors, if you are following on from a complaint and investigation by LA EHO's etc...

when you say "hearing tests" are you referring to audiometric screening as required under the Control of noise at work Regs 2005 for employees exposed to above the 2nd action level to be carried out by competent occupational health practitioners? or do you mean and workplace noise assessment to comply with regs?

Drop me a email if you want a proper chat as I'm heavily involved in that market as a technical consultant.

Yes both as I am already a Qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist and I have done further training and acquired BSA Certificate in Industrial Audiometry, so with my experience in Audiology I can offer the hearing assessments from a different prospective and also supply all the different types of Hearing protection with my focus being on Custom made protection that is more cost effective and provides much better protection than the poorly fitting disposable generic type. I will drop you an email anyway. Thanks.

EDIT: couldn't see your email in profile!
