I'm a man who's followed, been and thoroughly supported England for the last 20 years. I said to a mate the other day Ive just had enough now. This "effort" somewhat backs up my sentiments! And the sooner woy and wooney (the current version) **** off the better!

England are shite, everyone knows that. If you expect anything else you're stupid. Why dont you just support a decent team like Spain or Germany?

England have always been woeful....at least in my lifetime but the difference now is that the unfounded expectation is not there anymore.

England are second rate and have been for years. The premiership is to blame and until it fundamentally changes then we will continue to churn out second class players and coaches.

Do commentators completely miss deflections? (Or was I seeing things...Rooney's goal was a deflection wasn't it?)

Can see the headlines. "England grind out a respectable draw at the home of footballing gods" blah blah. In a tournament that England team with that first half display would have been 3 down to Germany at half time. And for all the historians above, England haven't always been woeful, just unlucky, let themselves down, bad night, (add further puns) etc etc

They weren't bad once. Then the premiership started. I would say they were at their very best in 1988. 😀
