I have used Endomondo for a few years now with no issues..... until a few months ago when the Endomondo site was presumably 'upgraded'...... now I'm experiencing two issues when uploading from a Garmin 500...
Issue 1 - all uploaded rides have the 'include in statistics' button unticked, so I have to go back into the rides one by one and tick them..... right hassle!
Issue 2 - when uploading theres a drop down list for the type of activity ...eg running, mountain biking etc..... no matter which option I select from the drop down list all activities upload as Running..... so again I have to edit each ride after upload to correct the activity.
So.... any ideas why this is happening or what I can do to fix things????
I can't see any options in Endomondo settings......
Strange.
It always used to default to running, regardless, but they changed it a couple of months back to let you choose at upload time. Worked for me the last time I did that. All of my uploads have the right activity type still (just double checked).
my rides always used to default to cycling sport!
I'm having exactly the same issues that the OP is describing. I'm using an Edge 800 and it seems to have started about a month ago.

Defaults to running and doesn't show rides from September in the stats
Its tried to get all clever and has just ended up being annoying
I've had (sort of) the opposite experience.
Endomondo doesn't support uploads from my Dakota 20 via the Garmin Plugin so I have to do them as a File Upload. Previously, this would load it in as "Running" and I'd then have to go edit it in Endomondo.
Now, I get a drop-down in the dialogue box that lets me change it before Endomondo saves it.
To the OP - does this happen if you only load in one session or only when you try do do a few at once?

uploading from file option and browing to the file rather than direct from Garmin seems to work ok!
Direct from Garmin 800 here always says Running too.
Same issue uploading from my edge 800 too!
