my lads not far into a painting and decorating apprenticeship doing an nvq level 2. just recently hes being sent to a job 2hrs away, so 4hrs travel per day. he just gets 1 and a half hours pay for this. so hes out of the house 13hrs each day for about £40. this looks like it could go on for a few weeks.

i know appo's historically get all the sh1t jobs, but hes totally knackered when he gets in, p1ssed off and on about jacking it in which would be a shame. cant say i blame him tho if its not making him happy.

it legal to not pay for all hours spent from arrival at work to leaving at night? can they treat an appo like this or is it quite normal?
he says if he tells his boss hes not happy or complains about being sent there he'll just get the sack anyway.

all a shame really, he was so happy to get a job :-/

is it just a case of suck it up buttercup, plenty of people out of work would take it....

thanks
