We get quite a lot of spam at work, not scams, but UK firms offering services cold, like web design being the number one. I used to unsubscribe, I'm convinced that is a waste of time, so now I just right click - junk - and off it goes, this means that firm just gets filtered into the junk bin now and sod them.

If it's from a disreputable source, then clicking "unsubscribe" is the worst thing you can do as it just verifies to the spammer that your email address is live and active. That just means even more spam. It's worth more when they sell it on, too.

Cold caller emails are a PITA. Ever since I put the word "manager" in my job title on LinkedIn I've had umpteen unsolicited emails wanting to know if I've got half an hour to listen to their sales pitch. I had one today papping on about barriers to growth and cashflow visibility, apparently the key to it all is leveraging my capabilities, who knew. That and zarking recruitment agencies, get in the sea.

Yeah we get recruitment agencies non stop. I had one call me for a reference the other day - I thought something was up because I knew the bloke already had a job elsewhere, because I recommended him. I mentioned this to the recruiter, who quickly moved to ask me what my requirements were who was in charge of hiring etc etc. I just put the phone down. Basically he got my details from the lads CV from when he was looking to move on and made up some horseshit as an excuse to call me. I am sure that must against GDPR or something.

My favourite,

A couple of years ago I got an unsolicited email with two CVs attached, both were really keen to come and work with us apparently. I took great delight in telling her that one of her candidates was about to get his wish as he was currently employed by the company who we were in the process of merging with.

I used to just click spam and it did disappear but kept reappearing. I then decided to take a chance and go through the unsubscribe procedure (having heard the risks that Cougar describes) and it actually worked very well. My spam is now down to a very low level and has stayed that way for a while now.

"I've just seen your blog singletrackworld.com and would be interested in working with you". Yeah ok. Hopefully the new internal mail on here will stop that.

Oh yeah, we get those all the time at the moderator address, saying what a great fit our site is with theirs and wanting us to post content on the site. Often wildly unrelated subjects, like somewhere in China making tea cosies or some shizzle.

I get plenty like that from people in Africa who haven't even bothered working out what we export. I tell my secretary not to bother replying nowadays.

Check this one out I received this morning. It is incoherent, it took me three read through's to realise this was not an offer to take someone out for me, but a threat against me.

Good day.

I own a private web page with all types of offerings which i give in darknet.

Anything from entirely ruining peoples business to human injuries and so on, on the other hand almost nothing critical just like eliminating.

Quite often it is all that shit similar too rejected love or competition at the office.Anyways i've been contacted this week by individual to make an request and also object is not surprisingly you.

In a easy and pain-free method. The simple truth is i only receive money following any accomplished job and choice to make contact with you prior, to be able to pay off me for staying non-active this i usually offer the victim.Assuming i do not receive everything that i'm requesting,my person will carry out the purchase order.

Yet if we'll generate deal, apart canceling the order you're going to get whole details regarding the client that i've recorded.Quickly after the purchase is accomplished,I often get rid of the hitman too,as a result i have a decision, acquire 1200 out of you, basically with no effort and hard work, or simply to get four grand from client, but get rid of my executor.

I’m getting exchanges just through Btc aka bitcoin , this is my btc address - 1PdK2CgUVx2hq6xaoacuGXtyWbYftkCnc9

Now you have thirty eight hours to balance transfer.

Since downgrading from the heady heights of directorship to drone, I find my spam has all but disappeared.

I'm surprised you can find them amongst all the "your free service doesn't behave exactly as i want it to when i breach the Ts&Cs, you must fix this egregious violation of my human rights immediately" emails.

I keep getting emails quoting my main email address and what they say is my password. It isn't! The mail says that if I don't transfer 300 Bitcoin they will write to everyone in my address book and send them copies of the porn I've been looking at.
I keep checking my second email address in the hope that they have sent something interesting. They haven't. You just can't trust spammers these days.

GDPR seemed to rid us of a lot of the stuff you signed up for a decade previous.

We use spam filtering so don't really see the odd incoherent ones or phising etc.

The only ones I get now are the "I've seen your website and I can offer my services in...." and of course the passive aggressive follow up "I am waiting for your response".

Yeah this triple pisses me off. Those are the ones I bother to send to our spam tracking service.

Oh yes. It amuses me (or used to) when you click on 'unsubscribe' then they ask for your email address. I mean, eh?
I was getting regular shite off one bunch but since I blocked them almost all of the spam I was getting has ceased.
