How can I get email alerts for when someone replies to a thread I’m interested in or have written?
You get alerts if someone mentions you using @name.
Have you tried the 'favourite' link at the top (above the forum list).

Nah, it's only because I tagged your name with the @ symbol. Unfortunately there is no way of getting an alert for every reply to one of your posts as works with many/most other forums.
Remember the days when you could hover over a thread and see who the last poster was? Then you knew there'd been replies! I'm so glad they've improved it. Arf.
For a while you'd get an email whenever anyone replied to a thread you'd started, didn't seem to be something you could alter on a user by user level and it was turned off after a while. Now it's just the @user_name tagging that gets an email, again I think it's a system setting not a user one.
No easy way to do this: when alerts were marked with a red number at the top of the page folk complained but that's a fairly typical way of doing things, phpBB and Discus do it for example.
I find it a nightmare to keep track on here.
It could do with a decent way of keeping track to subscribed threads, like other forums have.
