We all know Elfin well, and we know much of his background, but we can never be sure what to believe. So what do you think?
So what do you think?
I'm not sure anyone properly posh would have that mohawk.
Why do you ask?
priviledged and left.
Elfin = captain flashheart
I believe he is Jeeves to Flashes wooster
Why do you ask?
Because I am light of heart and high of spirit. It is Friday and I saw Elfin's name in the Driving: Privilege or Right thread and was reminded that he is often adamant about being right and the synchronicity of the juxtaposition struck me and tickle me. That's why.
I am privileged to have Elfin as a mate.
Short, but nice, if a little angry
😀Junkyard - MemberI believe he is Jeeves to Flashes wooster
You do know he's part of the aristocracy really don't you? He frequently luncheons with Liz
What was wrong was that he stole his ex-missus' Yeovil Town shirt and now denies even having it.
Synchronicity and juxtaposition in the same sentence?
With reference to Sir Elfin, Lord of the scrotty bit of Poplar?
Verily, I did not think I would live enough years to see such a thing.

much as i hate to use it...FTFY
If he is, he's doing a better Mockney than that violinist.
I quite like the wee squirt now I've net him.
who?
Well he had the privilege of some time spent being independently educated so yup, he's a bit of a toff.
Doesn't mean a thing pies. The children round here who went to the independant schools were the ones who didn't pass the test to get into the grammar schools. The independant schools were full of lower middle-class wannabes.
The independant schools were full of lower middle-class wannabes.
The pattern seems to correlate.
what's it got to do with you Charliemungus and why do you care?? get a life..
you know a thread like this will only bolster his ego. do you really want a more egotistic elf? well, DO YOU?
Met him at the big bike bash a couple of times and he seems to be a good lad.
harsh kevs
edit - nice edit
Kind hearted bloke who suffers from the occaisional bout of 'typing torrets'

TalkemadaWell until you understand that your behaviour was unacceptable, and needs to change. ScienceOfficer could have been extremely upset by your nastiness.
I'll be monitoring your behaviour from now on. Make sure this doesn't happen again.
he loves the attention. I would, but I'm boring.!

I haddunt actually seen this (bin out for a pint with WCA, in't I?) but I must say I am most pleased. 🙂
Sir Elfin, Lord of the scrotty bit of Poplar
😆 Like there's a 'posh' bit of Poplar! 😆
Genuinely touched by the positive comments here. And in reciprocation; great to meet so many truly decent folk off here, for rides, pints, etc.
And what I've learned is, people can properly surprise you when you get to know them.
We all know Elfin well, and we know much of his background
You don't, really. Unless you know me in Real Life, tbh. And knows anyone unless they've spent time with them?
BUT
Everyone on here is a potential friend. Make the most of it, cos you know what, life don't throw up too many chances you know. Make the best of what you have. And be happy with that.
Loads of top, top people on here. I learned something from Ton this summer: try to meet as many people as you can in life, cos you don't know what could happen. The more you meet, the more fun you could have.
And I often think of someone like Bullheart; crap on a bike (his little sister beats him ffs), but he'll always be there giving it a go, having a good time and that.
Then there's WCA; a more top bloke I coon't hope to meet.
So, don't hide yourself in the shadows, step into the light and be who you're meant to be. Don't ponce about trying to live up to others' expectations, live up to your own. Much more difficult.
Stop mucking about and sort yerselves out ffs.
Must admit though I was in the NHM today; one pahynd for a bit of shiny pebble in the gift shop ffs shooduv nicked some tbh. Right load of toot they've got in there mind you remote control cockroach!!
I actually need this. 😐
Oh jeez, it wasn't meant to be taken so seriously!
No what you must realise is that there are many people who really want to be able to step forward and be seen, but don't have the confidence to. Which is why you should be considerate and sensitive to the fact that some people need to be treated carefully.
Maybe there is someone who wants to step out of the shadows, but they don't feel strong enough. It's up to all of us to help make them feel comfortable about doing so. Sometimes the voice of a stranger in the dark can make all the difference to someone. People can be locked away with their fears and their demons we shoon't leave them to suffer on their own, but be there to be helpful and offer support.
So don't be nasty and unkind to people.
My dad got me one of those cockroaches last Christmas. They're not as awesome as they could be. Even the cat couldn't be bothered to kill it.

I'll 'ave some of wot he's suppin' 😉
I agree a bit with elf, but i can't help thinking if you lack confidence, then the voice of a stranger in the dark is just going to scare you.
i like your style elf. I am trying a perpetual style of happiness and cool.. can't really afford it though.
No MungBean;
There have been times on here when people have reached out to others who have called out for help. Total stangers, ships that pass in the night and that.
But if you don't have the strength, the confidence to ask for help in the first place, then you may never meet that stranger.
Which is why it's important to be welcoming and non-threatening. Make people feel comfortable,.
Right now, there are people suffering immeasurable pain. And maybe what they need, what might make a difference, is someone to just communicate with.
But how much more difficult is that, if people are hostile and nasty? What if, right, there was someone who you cooduv helped, but they felt too intimidated, to scared to approach you? It's up to you to become a more nicer person that others feel safe and secure with.
So, help make it a nicer, safe, welcoming environment.
I am a much nicer person
it's easy of course to be all caring an thoughtful when you don't have to work your ass off all week in a shit job to pay the bills...hmm shift work those nice thoughts,
.
anyway I'm full of shit. still love ya elf x. and you know how i think so don't have a go at me.
I'm a much nicer person too.
why is everyone so (negatively) obsessed with class?
live and let live, do unto others et al.
Only those who don't have it would say something like that 😉

Blimey Elf, that's amazing [applause]
To everyone else, I have the pleasure of knowing Elf, and he's a real diamond. He's actually one of those secret millionaire folk...... 🙂
You know, i think you are right, but not in financial terms, instead in generosity of spirit

Not sure obsessed is the correct word but Britain is not classless or free
Being born in to the upper class confers many advantages over being born into the lower classes. This is unfair and I canno tlive an dlet live on this issue as it is an anachronistic injustice that has nothing to do with talent nor is it merited

Probably the best thing you've written on here Fred.
I had the pleasure of sharing an hour or so sipping Leffe in a pleasant little public house in Kensington last evening and can vouch that he is a true rough diamond, salt of the earth and as London born an common as the plague.
You could tell it was a rough neighbourhood as we were stood on the street drinking (behind the red roped off area, obviously) and as one of the local oiks (I believe that is the correct vernacular) pressed the remote open on the gates you could clearly see he was driving his own car. I ask you, a stretched Audi A8 without a chauffeur! I know it is London but how is such poverty allowed to continue in this noble land.
common as the plague.
I shall be plagiarising this as often as is possible.. 😆
yeah, it is quite catching

Every other thread on here is having a bash at the 'upper class'.
I hate the 'being born into money brings advantages' argument.
So frickin what?
This is still a free country and we are still immensly lucky to have been born here than many many other places in the world.
We all have the chance to achieve great things, every single one of us is offered education and oportunities, and indeed many of my friends from low income families and schools for the naughty kids were offered many more opportunities to improve their skills.
If you have a modicum of get up and go and a drive to succeed then you can do great things with your life in Britain (granted - it wont be easy!) , or you could choose to sit around slating people born with a silver spoon in thier mouths.
you are maggie thatcher and i claim my free bottle of milk

Eeeeh! It's this shocking lack of historical knowledge which resulted in the Tories getting back in.
thats the chappie
TJ - Come to the BBB next year and I will introduce you to the fella. I won't tell you it is him when you first meet but see how many seconds before you work it out. Ask Ton, Cynic-al etc. Elfinsafety is a nice bloke. High maintenance but everyone should have an Elfin in their friendship circle.
WCA - I'm taking the piss. I know elfin on line and via email fairly well and would consider him a friend.
At least his current medication seems to be working - despite his inability to see his own faults of recent months/years/personas. Still - he seems to be developing quite the in crowd these days - fawning isn't strong enough a word.
Yes, you can often judge a man by the company he keeps.
High maintenance but everyone should have an Elfin in their friendship circle.
And they should also avoid blokes who call their mates a friendship circle
🙂
