Electronic note pads

What’s an E pad? I bought a kindle scribe earlier this year, it’s pretty basic as an electronic notebook but it works for me. Really great writing feel. I got it half price on Prime day, if they reduce them again on Black Friday I don’t think you can beat it for the money.

there are other options including ReMarkable and even iPad + pencil, but they’re both quite a bit more dosh.

I use a Kindle Scribe.  I only take notes with scribbles - no fancy arty type stuff and for that I find the functions / folders / sorting very good and the writing experience excellent also.

I travel for work so the added bonus of having a variety of books available is an extra bonus.   It also last 3 months of daily use until I had to charge it.

I suspect your timing with regard th Black Friday/Cyber Monday around the corner is perfect.

The ability for the kindle bit is apealling too

I used to work with a number of researcher types, several of them all used and live the remarkable for mathematical notes and notation. It was an AI company, so money wasn't really a primary concern for them.

Quite a few at work use the remarkable. Can you get work to pay for one as an adjustment for your dyslexia ?

It's much nicer to write on than an iPad, I can always find my notes, it syncs across devices and crucially for me, my notes about salaries, team meetings, margins and whatever else is locked behind a PIN locked device. When I think back, notebooks were obviously a massive data risk for me.

I don't need to write much up any more because I can always find my notes.  It's saved me a lot of time. Onenote on an iPad could do the same but the writing experience isn't very nice (to me) and battery life when you've got the app open for hours is pretty awful, versus the Remarkable which will easily last a week...

Another Remarkable person here. Writing experience is great, and synch across devices is pretty helpful. Things that would be really helpful is the ability to find things you've written down by date. And the filing system in OneNote works a bit better too, filing on a remarkable is a bit clunky.

I have tended in the last couple of months to use OneNote on a Surface pro to hand write meeting notes when actions are needed, and much easier to pull across into MS Planner or Loop. Folder tree is better too.  I still use Remarkable for making notes of longer one-off meetings and then annotate those jottings.

Surface Pro probably suffers from th same thing as an iPad in that it is not such a good writing experience as the Remarkable

Anyone tried the Supernote?

The scribe seems dearer?

Im not doing complex things on it.  Just writing meeting notes etc.

But its the ability to save and arcive them.

Scribe can you have lines and doc templates?

I have just had the same dilemma, have used an old iPad and pencil for years and it needed to be replaced.

Having spent ages looking at the remarkable or equivalent but decided to go for a new iPad Air plus the new Apple Pencil pro. If you use a paper like screen protector the writing experience is pretty good. I did test the remarkable but it felt quite clunky compared to the iPad.

The basic iPad and pencil are pretty reasonable now but I would say the screen protector makes all the difference for writing

no-one pays full price for Amazon brand products! Just wait for Prime day or (hopefully!) Black Friday when they reduce them massively. I paid £275 for the 32Gb version

there are various lined/gridded templates, you can import your own templates but it’s a bit of a bodge.

There's also a new version of the Kindle Scribe out Dec 4th, so I'd expect some decent discounts on the original version.
