Any Sparkys in da house?

Why should my bedroom light suddenly have stopped working? Its yer bog-standard pendant ceiling light, single cable entering rose.

Taken it all apart. No loose connections in anywhere: rose, lampholder or switch.

(NB: No earth wire connected to rose. Should there be?)

Nowt wrong with the bulb (tried a few in there).

It was all fine one minute, broken the next. WTF?

I just swapped the switch with one from a different bedroom. Still not working.

So its not the switch.

If there's only one cable in the rose then chances are there will be a junction box somewhere. Also if there's no earth I assume it's old wiring? Might be a broken cable somewhere

Liftman - Not the fuse or circuit-breaker. Everything else in the house good.

kerv - New wiring - relatively new house.

mugsy_m8: No idea. I don't have a tester 😐

Have a look at the fittings in the adjacent rooms it might have come adrift/burnt/broken in one of these.
