It is a flexible and extendable pole for chasing wires around the house.

I need one but don't know what they are called to price one up!

I only know them as fishing rods or poles. I think screwfix do a cheap set, don't bother with the really expensive ones

Yeah only need them to put some up lighters in some decking that won't budge. Are they known by anything other than a brand name (trying unsuccessfully on screw fix)

Draw tape/wire is different to what the OP wants - too flexible. Cable rods are what it is.

The correct term is fish tape, hence the saying common amongst spark " please be a good chap and assist me to fish these cables/wires thru the conduit/trunking/ducts"

Cheers mate you are a good egg !

A draw wire is a length of wire or thin cordage lift in a duct by a considerate individual after installing the duct, in order to reciprocate the consideration whoever uses the draw wire ought to leave the draw wire remaining in said duct after he has pulled his cable (fnarr, fnarr) thru.

Cobra is a continuous coil Wrighty, but would do the job - usually a bit thicker than cable rods though.
