I have recently bought [url= http://www.amazon.co.uk/Campingaz-Powerbox-24-Classic-Cooler/dp/B000Y8QF16/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444300401&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=calorgaz+electric+coolbox ]one of these coolboxes[/url] (Amazon bargain at £25) and it works fine when plugged in to the 12v supply in the car. However, when I use [url= http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-12w-acdc-fixed-voltage-12v-power-supply-n35az ]one of these[/url] it doesn't work. Is this because the adapter isn't rated enough? The adapter works fine when running two in car DVD players via mains power.
That adapter will be way too weedy for a cool box. Maybe a 5A one. Is there anything written on the box in terms of power requirements?
I need to check the output but I guess it is that. On looking a bit more, there are coolbox specific ones that are rated for use with them.

Yeah. Needs more amps....peltiers use quite a lot of power.
