I know there’s been a thread about this before but I can’t bloody find it. I’m looking for recommendations for earplugs. For gig-going, rather than snoring-elimination, purposes.

I’ve used some cheapish Blox ones but wondering if there’s something a step up. Could do with them being available from Amazon via Prime, as I’m off to have my ears assaulted two nights in a row this week and it’d be nice to have them for that.

I've used these and like them:

I have some Proguard ones I bought from the LGS (Guitar Village, Farnham - I'm not a guitarist but their client list is 'impressive' and I assume they stock quality stuff)

Then I mislaid them and in a rush bought some ACS ones on line because they had next day delivery, which are also pretty good.

I don't really like either, but equally I hate the 3 days tinnitus (and longer term damage) that unprotected gig going seems to give me.

I use MusicSafePro for practice/gigging and for going to gigs. Works fine for me

Bear in mind my ears are about two feet from my snare drum & cymbals for up to three hours at a time

I think that's just a string to keep them together?

Those £20ish jobs are really quite good and will definitely see you right.

The gold standard are the ones where they take a mould of your ear. They're not cheap - I got mine from ACS for £150 in around 2006 (but I was full time in music at the time so it was well worth it).  Really can't recommend them enough - so comfortable you forget you're wearing them, and they don't colour the sound at all. Don't know what your budget is but they probably cost what some STWers spend on a single tyre for their Audi so I thought i'd sling in a vote of recommendation 😉
