I've been bursting to get this out all day but fate intervened.
I have 4 eggs left but with little time to finish them. Will having 4 kill me (max is usually 3)?
I have 6 every morning, have had for about 25 years....
Can you even make an omelette with less than 4?!
2 eggs is my limit.
Unless it's creme eggs,I'm not sure what my limit is then
Just had 8 scrambled, with roasted vegetables between me and Mrs Bloke. From our own chooks - we had a bit of a glut. T'was awesome. We don't do that all the time so an occasional splurge is OK in my book.
Also, be aware that a lot of the old ideas about eggs are outdated. Particularly the fact that they significantly raise cholesterol. They do contain a lot of cholesterol, but very little of that is converted to dietary cholesterol and passed into the bloodstream. Too much of anything isn't good, but 4 eggs occasionally definitely isn't going to kill you.
Despite eating quite a lot of eggs, I've been able to bring my blood cholesterol down quite significantly recently, mostly by eating more fat and protein, but a lot less carbs - especially refined carbs.
When we get a REAL glut, I make a massive Spanish frittata with 18 eggs. Which I share with the missus! Over 3 days or so 😁
Four is a little more than I really want but if it's that or go to waste, then four eggs it is

You will be bursting to get it out if you eat too many eggs.
Came here to check Paul Newman had been involved...
2 covers me most days. They are relatively expensive so I limit my intake purely on the cost.

Other things don't change though....

Cool fact - 7 billion males chicks are killed by the global egg industry annually - that's nearly the total human population of the world.
Enjoy your eggs.
I choff 6 per meal with beef, either mince or a steak if I’m flush. Mostly only eat one meal a day. But have been known to eat 12 eggs in day. I consume minimal carbs.
Scramble them and put them on toast or make an omelet type thing...
That will take care of of them.
If you make an omelette with some extras like a bit of ham and chopped onion, you can fridge some of it for the next day too.
4 eggs left but with little time to finish them.
That sounds like an elevator pitch for a Jason Statham movie
'Little time' in what sense? Before you die? (for reasons of eating one more egg than usual)
Before we all die?
What exactly is the time pressure causing this 4 egg dilemma?
Depends how big they are. you won’t die. But you might feel overly full if they are XXL mega eggs.
our silkies and pekins lay small eggs and it is a fair-sized helping to eat 4-5 as a nice-sized omelette, boiled, as eggy bread, or poached.
scrambled is a different matter and a scramble of 6-8 produces a good-sized portion. Want to use up eggs quickly? Scrambled would be my recommendation. By the way, eggs last a fair amount of time in the UK. The use by dates are conservative imo. Our home grown ones are AOK after a couple of weeks on the worktop. They don’t tend to last longer than that so I have no shelf life data for them.

You're not supposed to eat them whole with the shell on.
You are a reptile of some description , and I claim my $3.50. 😉 🤣
Have two boiled or poached w toast, and hard boil the other 2 and take them w you for a snack later. Have a side of wilted spinach and no worries about being bunged up...
Fried or poached or hard boiled, two. Scrambled, three.

We are a horrible species.
Don't eat too many. It can lead to indecisiveness when crossing roads

The idea that dietary cholesterol raises blood cholesterol significantly has changed. But it is believed that it can have a "minimal" impact on blood cholesterol.
Plus it can apparently have much more effect on "hyper-responders" which is probably genetic.
So I don't know but eating a prawn omelette everyday might be pushing it a bit especially if your cholesterol is already high.
IMO lowering blood cholesterol naturally involves a bit of many things, eg, less saturated fats, more exercise, less weight, more oats, less dietary cholesterol, etc. At least that is how I lowered my cholesterol significantly so that I didn't need to go on statins.
One of the many small changes I made was to go from probably a couple of eggs a day to a couple a week. There is no way of knowing but it possibly made a very small minimal difference which when combined with lots of other small minimal things added up to make a significant difference.

Usually I consume six eggs at least every other week, typically three lunches of two scrambled eggs with beans.
But I wouldn't stress about having four scrambled eggs in one sitting as a one-off.
Recently a six pack increased from £1.45 to £1.60 at Tesco and the egg shells changed from brown to white. Been some silly food price hikes in the last few years. 😥

This - I've got high cholesterol and doc told me expect only to be able to shift bloods by about 15% through diet. (Its sat fat that is potentially the villain but even then I don't think it's a huge problem these days.)
Mine can be between 6 and 9 depending on when where or how.
Seems to be linked to screwy liver too.
The French only ever eat one egg at a time.
Because...
Three or four is my normal for scrambled eggs.
Done the Gordon Ramsay way.
Not as many as Conor Benn (80/week).
Eat too many and you WILL fail a doping test

I remember being told in my youth (when white chicken eggs were more the norm) that British consumers preferred brown eggs because they appeared to be more "natural" whilst American consumers preferred white eggs, presumably because it made them look more clean and less associated with coming out of a hen's arse.
Eventually white eggs disappeared from British shelves (no idea about the situation in the United States) although recently they have started to reappear more and more.
Apparently this is a good thing because the breed of chickens that produce brown eggs are said to be quite aggressive whilst those which produce white eggs are much more docile. So it's a chicken welfare issue as less fighting occurs in the production of white eggs........white is right.
Crisis over. I had 3 eggs and kept the other one in case of civil unrest/protest duties.
With white eggs you have less chance of finding blood spots, so it's yes from me 👍
I saw a box of blue eggs in Tesco the other day, but the price had me running away sharpish.
Speaking of prices... A box of 60 normal white eggs used to be around £9-10 a few months ago. Now it's £15.

You are American and I claim my $5
Two or four is what normal people do. If you have three, you'll end up with an odd number of slices of bread, plus you have to make two batches of toast, which might not match, and it makes it hard to plan egg purchases if some people in the household eat odd numbers of eggs and others even numbers.
I'm not fussed if the eggs are white or brown, but recently the white eggs we've had have seemed to be thinner shells. had quite a few with small leaks at the bottom so they're stuck to the box, didn't notice when buying, but also I've squished a few when picking the box up which deosn't happen with brown eggs.
Maybe just bad luck but also could be 5G networks or brexit affecting shell brittleness or something......
I like eating eggs while listening to some classic tunes. I'm good with one, but usually struggle with the difficult second albumen.
Did you know that brown eggs are really white shelled and that the brown is just a thin layer of pigment that is added at a later stage inside the chicken, when the egg is fully formed?

Americans don't like blood spots? *confused*

I reckon you should probably consider cutting down on the quality of eggs you are getting through
