Stepped outside this morning to put something from the car boot. Layer of ice on the car, path looked fine.

Next thing my feet are higher than my head and crump, down on my shoulder and side. My head would probably have hit the ground too, but luckily it swiped the car plastic bumper instead.

Pain has been getting worse all day, no visible bruises, can move arm ok but sore.

Ironically I was going out for a run and had a set of spikes in my hand for my shoes in case the track was icy.

Now grumpy as...

Anyhow, take care. I got caught out and I was looking carefully.

These more than a little crap.

Still a long way to go healing from tearing the rotator cuff in my shoulder from a slow speed crash back on April.

I don't seem to heal so fast as I used to.

It sucks getting older.

Should have been wearing a helmet ⛑

Where do you live that’s cool enough to have ice ?

Yes so easy to do. Yesterday was very icy here and this morning. I almost went on my ass the other day. Doesn’t help that my mad neighbour pours hot water to clear his frozen windscreen. The water that spills on to the drive then turns to a sheet of ice.

I really don’t want to go down as I’m nursing a recent screw implant in my left wrist which will take 12 weeks to heal. If I wreck that it won’t be good.

Hope it's not too bad today Brian and that you're fully healed in time for the 'puffer.
Whisky has good anaesthetic qualities I've heard.
Sounds like running is more dangerous than cycling - best stick to the bikes.

Nearly the same latitude as Juneau Alaska and 2º north of Moscow.

In other words Dingwall in Scotland 🙂

Shoulder functioning ok today thank goodness. Still a bit niggly but not the nauseous feeling.

After 40 years of hanging around ice rinks, playing hockey, riding bikes across frozen ponds, going to canada 4 times in winter, you might think i had a fair idea that ice can be slippery.
But I still managed to fall on ice at work a couple of years ago and busted my leg pretty badly.
I won’t walk properly again, not 100% anyway.
It’s soooo easily done.
Hope you’re feeling better today OP.
