Awe folks, y'know when a night is "just what you've been looking for"? Nothing vuagely epic, a simple pure and called for and well deserved couple of pints of real ale and ham egg and chips?

Ey, a night of paired down awesomeness.

I'm home, Hampshire seemed a long way away for a few weeks and Dear God I needed to come home.

E - ham (from the farm over the road) egg (from the other farm over the road near the church) and chips (gawd knows where they came from but suspect a farm near Arlesford) , Heinz Tomato Sauce (from a factory near Birmingham), table salt (that ultra refined bleached crap, probably from that huge refinery near Newmarket)
D - Two glorious pints of Goodens Gold, I suspect brewed especially for me (phah)
L - Random folks chatting about all sorts of life emitting verbalisation, ruminations from the fire in the hearth sighing and pulsing and spitting as each single log gives up its final stage of its fruitful life (from the wood on the hill, near the pig farm that supplied the ham)

I give you The Flower Pots, Cheriton, Hampshire.

I have just cried a single tear..

Ha. Used to drink pots a lot when I was growing up, and village elder - the finest beer ever brewed.

Haha, after all these years on here I just had a mental blank as I thought "why are people listing food and drink in a thread about the English Defence League". Genuinely thought this was some sort of modern game of Mornington Crescent!

Roast Dinner (chicken)
Tribute (pale ale)
Chatty Man (not watching as playing on here)

Roast chicken from the hot deli in co-op (no veg or trimmings or even bread though 🙁 )
muscato, soda and bitters (damned fool stepson returning from the shops with dessert wine)
Mrs yunki in the other room on the phone, discussing the finer points of the imminent birth of her brother's second child (she's a midwife so I'm not being insensitive by sitting here posting, I'm just fully aware that my presence is surplus to requirements)

Wood pigeon and black pudding spring roll with pickled veg, followed by 10ozs of rare bolster moor filet steak with salad, chips, coleslaw and onion rings followed by sticky toffee pudding with brown bread ice cream.

A lovely merlot.

A brass band playing (if I'm honest, slightly melancholic) Christmas tunes.

(I've been out for tea, in case you were wondering)
