It's where 2Pure & Bike Co-Op have their warehouses. Cycling is fine, did that today from Wester Hailes.

Tomorrow, if it's a midden, I don't want to have to do it again at 7am.

Since the Lothian Buses website is suffering a meltdown and First Bus is... Last, does anyone know what bus goes at least to Kirkliston?

Otherwise i'll get out the spends and get the train to Dalmeny n' go from there.

Weather looks fine for tomorrow.

Canal to Newbridge then off road old railway path from M9/A8 roundabout to Kirkliston, or alternatively a nice route through the Dalmeny estate to Dalmeny village.

I don't think Lothian Buses do a service that far west.

It's nice round that part of the world but scooshing along on 2.25's Rubber Queens will give me rage if I make a habit of it.

M.T.F.Upping. For crying out loud.

n + 1.

PS - I don't know what way you went today, but the reverse of my Strava route from last night should give you a nice hint from canal onwards.

80% offroad so tyres will seem like less of a chore.

What way, you ask?

Way there, first time on bike on those little country roads, pootling round the back arse of the Airport... thought the M.O.D would be on my case, figured it out. Took an hour from 'hailes to the yard.

Way back, Glasgow Road. Don't ask.

DEFINITELY doing that Strava run, particularly if this turns into a constant commute.

If I took one thing from today though, it's that I think I NEED a road bike, you know, NEED one!

Chris - what you want is a Cross bike. Perfect for that commute!

Also perfect for getting off my Winter arse and getting all up in the CX action.

Someone on here I did a Midlothian loop with once did incredible things on a Cross bike.

I don't want a road bike at all... 😆

+1

Cross bike is great for those railway paths etc. The vast majority of my riding has been done on the CX bike since getting it last year. Great for giving you off road options for mixing up the commute without making the road bits too much of a chore.
