Edinburgh locals, parking advice

So I'm up in Edinburgh for a long weekend. Arriving Saturday AM and leaving Monday Am around midday.
I'm in the new town, Cumberland Street to be exact. It looks like I can park for free on the street until Monday morning then pay a £11 to cover me until midday.
My question is how likely will I be to get a space. Not been for a few years but I know it can be tricky.
The other option is to park on someone's drive/parking space for £40 for the whole weekend.
I'm thinking of going for the second option, just so I'm not stressing about parking?
Any advice welcome. Don't mind a 15 minute walk if there's some less contested free parking close(ish).

You'll be fine.  If you don't mind a wee walk you could park on Inverleith Terrace no problem, might be cheaper too.

Hi, I expect you will be fine. If Cumberland Street jam packed Fettes Row to the immediate north likely to have spaces. On a Saturday in those locations you can park on pay and display bays or residents bays. If there’s a choice I would always aim for pay and display bay to avoid taking up a permitted space and will also mean easier to top up for Monday morning without moving the car. Brandon Street also an option if no spaces at either of the above. You will need Ring Go app. Good luck!

You'll get parked absolutely fine, plenty of parking nearby . Ringo makes it easier on Monday morning as you won't even need to go out the car. Remember that your max stay on Monday is 4hrs, so you will need to be away by 12.30pm.
