My beloved Golf is getting a bit weary and the last time I took it to the usual garage they didn't have the usual levels of care - felt like the tables had turned a bit and they were after every penny rather than providing the nice little touches. Might just be paranoia... But I'd like to effectively get a second opinion on their recommendations prior to MOT time in a few weeks to see if it's worth spending the money. Any trustworthy recommendations?

Anyway. Logan's Garage at bottom of Leith walk. Man called Mark Allan owns it. Tell him you know me etc.specializes in Japanese but also VAG Tdi stuff.
Simpson's garage at the back of Piershill Terrace gets all the work required on the wife's car, and a bloke down a little side alley near Cameron Toll (Hoffman Motors) works on my RX7. Both very reasonably priced, both know what they're doing.
