Everything tells me these 2 are compatible but i just cant get mine to connect. Any users out there care to enlighten me as to how it should be done?
I have an ant+ dongle ready to use with the gsc 10 for use with either trainerroad or zwift. Zwift doesnt appear to want to work with my laptop for mysterious reasons. Is there anything i can use to check that my dongle and gsc 10 are talking/recording to each other, both are second hand items so just want to check them. Thanks
I assume you've pushed the little button until the light flashes green and red before trying to add it to the Edge 25?
And that you've set the sensor type to speed & cadence? There are a couple of options for the different types.
Beej i dont see that option on the edge 25, it just goes straight to attempting to connect.
Flaperon i pressed everything and turned the wheels just to make sure the sensor was awake but i will try more methodically than my elephant gun approach.
You could try Golden Cheetah on your laptop, it is free and can connect to Ant+ sensors. Instructions here: https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/Realtime-set-up
Have you tried a new battery in the sensor?
The sensor has a new battery in it and it flashes red/green when magnets pass it so i assume its working ok although this is no indication as to whether it is transmitting what its picking up. Edge says i need to wake up the device even when trying to connect while pedal and wheel in motion. Its been a frustrating afternoon of what i thought would be plug n play stuff which at minute is just plug stuff. Golden cheetah now downloaded so i will check sensor and dongle are working and report back. Thanks.
Take your bike away from any other sources of wireless interference and try again.
GSC 10 list of compatible devices doesn't include the Edge 25.

And the list of fitness devices compatible with the Edge 25 doesn't include the GSC 10, only the newer individual sensors.
It needs to be flashing alternately red/green to pair, not just flashing when the magnets pass it (which simply means it's awake).
Edit: The Edge 25 has notoriously weak antennas. It seemed to be a batch issue so Garmin are replacing them, but a good first step is to make sure you're running the latest firmware which fixed/bodged a solution (2.70 I think).
Beej - i also read that but several other sites and more importantly users have connected these devices.
Flaperon - mine definately does not do that, light only activated with a passing magnet. I press and hold the reset button and it will flash red/green once and then stay off, is that right?
Can i use garmin express to test the dongle and sensor as ant agent is now discontinued?
