Well i just moved into a new house on Monday and checked my mail box this morning and have found various bills from Edf Energy dating back to january. There is also a letter stating legal proceedings maybe commenced. The bill is for £567. Now will i be liable for this as my Tenancy agreement proves when i moved in and also a photographed metre reading.
it will be the named individual who's responsible.
pass it on to the landlord/lettign agent.
phone edf and explain the person has now left and please to not write to the address any more.
It just says ocupier/owner and the address. The property was only built in December and we are the firsed ones in the place.
even so, forward to landlord/speak to edf.
you did take readings when you moved in I take it?
Make sure you give them a reading asap and get them to confirm it's been put on the system. Then change suppliers, EDF are barstewards of the highest order.
Yeah we have a form with electric and water metre reading photographs, and i have checked them also and this form needs sending back to the Estate agents. So ill give them the bills also.
phone edf yourself, don't rely on the agent to do it.
IMO I wouldn't have the estate agents as a go between. Ring EDF yourself and get your name down as the occupier with your moving in meter reading logged, that way you are in control.
Send the forms back to the estate agent to keep them happy, and keep copies for yourself.
