Thanks to a child trying to destroy my house while i was in nigeria and no one telling me i lit the fire to find the eco fan no longer works Along with a few other items broken.

Any one used their repair service ? Given the cost of them new are the repairs equally stupidly priced ?

Id repair it my self but i have no idea wtf he did to it ...

Anyone want a free kid that cannot be controlled apparently .....

Ive seen some of them , i have an arctic cooler heat sink at my parents i may bring back and turn into a bike themed eco fan rip off just for giggles as the bits aint expensive.

Im quite annoyed though as this was a gift from grandparents.....

will the kid fit in the wood burner?

Cant help with ecofan repair as a service, but they're very simple machines I think. You just need to make sure the electrical connections between the peltier device (the bit that gets hot on one side and is kept cool on the other) and the fan motor are still good. Else check the motor is OK, other than that there;s not alot to go wrong.

Like you say seems simple - cant make it any worse ....

Dunno about the kid .... The mother perhaps .....

How come smee can look after his 3 kids just fine without destroying a house , she brings 1 kid round and all my shit gets busted up

There's not much to go wrong with them.

Might have knocked something out of line.

See if the fan spins freely. Spin it with your fingers. It should go two or three turns, and there should be some rock back turn.

If not, just check the alignment of the bearings and links.

Have a tinker.

Doesnt spin freely ..... Even on the heat

Spins in steps like the motors holding it back .....

Motors are only 15 quid by the looks of it and even the correct peltier isnt that much direct from canada . Some arctic silver and a couple of dobs o soulder - new un

I bet you can get the motors for less than £15. Take a look at Rapid electronics, maplin and ebay. Very simple devices unlike the proper stirling engine ones (also simple but a bit more fragile).
