Hi All
My youngest son got an Echo Dot for Christmas, I set up Spotify Family and linked hit Dot to his account to prevent it cutitng out our listening as soon as he plays something in his bedroom.
My eldest son got his first phone for Christmas and I again linked to his new Spotify Family account for the same reasons. All has worked swimmingly.
However, eldest son has now bought a Dot for his bedroom, I set it up and tried to connect it to his Spotify Family account but is seems that all Echo devices on an Amazon account can only link to one Spotify account... So now if one son has spotify playing in his room the other son makes it stop if he starts to listen in his room. This clearly leads to mass brawling!
Anyone solved this? Googling it seems that the only real way would be for me to set up two new Amazon accounts, unlink each Dot from our family Amazon account and link independantly to the new accounts with their own Spotify Family accounts linked to each. My wife and I both have an alternate email account we could use for this so no direct link to the boys.
Any other recommendations? Was never this difficult in the past....
Thanks.
Bookmarked - Sorry no help but I have a similar problem so want to see what people suggest.
This may be wrong but.... Both Alexa devices are linked to [your] Amazon account and you can only have one Spotify account linked to your Amazon account.
Try setting up an Amazon account for your eldest and link that to his Spotify account.
Edit: didn't read all your OP but what you googled makes sense.

This is what you need to do. IIRC you can ask it to play from a specific Spotify account each time (ie "Alexa Play XXXX by YYYY on AAAA's Spotify"), but that would be a pain so I didn't try. Could be wrong about the exact details of that though.

Yes, read about being able to link to each account every time but can't see them doing that, kids f today want it all set up for them dont they!!
Missed that previous thread, will give it a look.
Don't really understand that. You only have to link the echo to the amazon [and spotify] account once - unless your boys keep swapping them around!
Echo 1 > Amazon account 1 > Spotify account 1
Echo 2 > Amazon account 2 > Spotify account 2
Edit: I was being slow and now understand about asking to play from a specific account each time. Think my system would be easier.
