We got an Echo dot for Christmas and paired it fine with the Sonos Play:1. All seems fine but the audio drops out for 0.5-2 seconds at random, particularly when playing radio from TuneIn. If we play the radio from the Sonos app on our phones, without going through Alexa (same wifi etc), we don't have any issues.

Any ideas?

I think it’s a known issue not sure if there’s a fix or not I can’t recall as a bit tipsy.

Echo and Sonos integration is a bit poor in my experience. Perhaps a software update will fix it but for now I've given up trying to use it and have gone beck to the Sonos app.

Think its a know issue.

Turn on all Sonos for 10 seconds and then turn back on.
Disable Sonos skill from Alexa
Enable Sonos skill - enter sonos passwords and usename and rediscover speakers.

Should be solved.

I'd link to the place where I find it but can't find it now.

Thanks convert. Will try that later today. In some respects it's good to know it's a known issue, as we seem to have some connection issues with Hive and wondered if this was the same, but looks like it's not.

I've got an echo plus which replaced a dot. The audio from tune in drops out occasionally, did on the dot as well. I know a couple of other people say the same thing happens with theirs. It might not be a problem related to Sonos as mine isn't connected to anything.

Looking online, following comments above, it looks like Amazon know they have an issue with TuneIn which they are trying to resolve. However it doesn't seem you can change the default radio player, so to try an alternative you'll going to have to say:

Alexa, open radioplayer and play BBC Radio 4 on kitchen.

By the time I've done that, I can just press the old DAB radio on!

Will update when Ive tried converts actions though.
