Sold an item which the buyer has identified a click and collect point (newsagent) to pick it up. I post it there.
She’s asked me after she’s paid by PayPal (cash is in my account) that I change the name for collection. Same newsagent, just different name

So, how do I have some fun with this?
Sounds like she is going to say she never got it because you sent it to the wrong person, tell her to jog on and relist it.
So why should I not just send it to the correct name?
Obviously she could go down the not as described route, but then I’d just insist on it being returned before refunding.
🤔
As said if you send to correct name she will probably claim there was nothing in box/stuff not as described, sounds like a timewaster TBH
She could raise some issue and PP takes the money back off you. I would not send it, cancel the sale and send her money back. Tell her its broken.
You need to send it to whatever address is on the PayPal account - not the Ebay account. If you send it to anything other than that, PayPal will take your money off you when he/she complains they didn't get it. I would not send it in any case and log it with Ebay.
Maybe the newsagents is up to some dodgy shenanigans. I'd report it to the cops, as well as cancelling the sale and refunding her(if indeed it is a her)
Could just be a couple and ordering on the partner's account. They probably need ID to collect. I had an issue with something a colleague ordered. They wouldn't let me take it out of the shop despite having all the info as it wasn't in my name. If you think it is legit you can always put both names. Send it to the person on the order and add the other name in a spare line eg 'company'

Steve Jobs and Joanne Doe??????
You do know that Steve Jobs founded the tech company "Apple" and John/Joanne Doe are the generic names that police in America use to tag dead bodies when they don't know the actual name....

It doesn't work like that anymore for a lot of us as the PayPal payment goes to eBay not me. I then get my money from eBay a few days later. The name and address comes from eBay.
Steve Jobs and Joanne Doe??????
I suspect the op knows this and didn't want to use real names on a public forum for privacy reasons

Nothing gets past you does it Sherlock?
I thought the police used jane doe for female.
I still think it’s dodgy AF regardless, relist it and tell the ‘buyer’ to jog on.
I cancelled the sale and refunded. And then sold the item again within an hour of relisting. The new buyer looks a lot better 🤞
Agree to the change in of name but also get the address wrong. Maybe a similarly named newsagents but 50 miles away.
Then send an envelope with the words "nice try" in it and a picture of Vicki Pollard just for bantz.
Then she can have her money back no problem.
Might dissuade her from the doing it in the future.
Shame. You should have sent yourself hiding in a massive box and when whoever came to collect it, you could have leapt out and owned them and the newsagent with Bombers. 😐
Cancel the sale and send a small box to the newsagent with a piece of turf, some frozen sausages and a small toy dog in it. With instructions on how to use the items...

Ah good point!
