Admittedly I'm a bit slow with ebay scams. I posted a wanted as on here 12 months back. A real long shot. Got an email out of the blue last week saying the individual had some for sale and linked a listing. I watched it and won it last night. So far so good.
Tried to pay this morning and its saying 'unclaimed' ...
I guess the seller had wrong details on the listing or should I be worried about an elaborate scam?!!!
Lets hope it's the former .......
how are you trying to pay? Direct through EBay via Paypal or through a link on an email? Dont do anything other than via the official EBay site or Paypal site, where you have actually gone via the site, not via an email or some other untrusted link. Once you have paid your payment is protected, so if its a scam and you dont get the goods you'll get your money back.
I've had similar in the past. Seller hadn't 'authenticated' his paypal account. Think it was a case of paypal sending the seller 2p with a reference to validate the account was real. In my case all was fine and had a lovely set of Hope wheels delivered.
Could be a scam, could just be a new paypal user. As peter says, just use paypal/ebay channels and you'll be protected.
This happened to me a while ago. My card linked to the pp account ran out. I replaced the details and I could still buy stuff but people couldn't pay me for things I'd sold. Took pp around a week to sort it.
Think he hasn't verified his account. Yep - trying to pay directly through eBay via PayPal. Hopefully it's ok as he sent a nice email saying he'll sort it and let me know.
Cheers for replies.
