Ordered a (used) item, something entirely different arrived. The seller said there's been a mix-up and has offered to send me a label to send it back, and they say they'll send me the item once the person who received it returns theirs.
I'm a little suspicious.
Seems totally believable.
Just make sure you do the return through standard eBay channels.
Agree with nealglover
It does sound plausable..... Mostly because I have done it before. Easy to do if you have a lot of items to send at the same time.
Luckily for me, my two buyers were very helpful and posted the items on to eachother (I obviously paid postage).
And if you never see your item, raise a claim with eBay/paypal
It happened to me. I got a saxophone rather than the item I wanted. The buyer just sorted out the collection and got each item swapped over. I think in my case the sellers husband had done the posting and got the parcels mixed up.
As long as the seller seems genuine and is trying to put things right I wouldn't worry.
You’re the buyer, you could send a turd back in the post and eBay would probably refund you.
You can also reclaim your return postage costs from Paypal
lookup their completed items - it should list the "wrong" item - its quite a common mistake to make.
I ordered The Wire boxset from eBay, received a corduroy jacket with leather elbow patches. Got them swapped but wish I'd kept the jacket!😂
