Dad has "bought" a motorbike on eBay. 1 week from "winning" he has zero response to quite a few messages asking when he can collect and pay as per the ad.  Reasonable? I think not but can't find any eBay guidelines to confirm. Bike no longer wanted as confidence in buyer lost and collection window missed.  Just to add to it when he phoned me to get me to view advert found the same bike at a different price. Identical down to the pics. Different prices. The one he got is listed as sold but the other ad isn't there any more. Makes me wonder somewhat.

Your thought please.

I'd be suspicious and it sounds like a scam. Contact eBay with evidence and instigate PayPal procedures, unless it was cash on collection, in which case, inform eBay about fraudulent listings.

As its cash he could just drop it and tell the buyer to stuff it I guess. Can't see any come back that would stick.

Perhaps the seller didn’t make as much as he expected, or he’s already sold it elsewhere.

The seller didn't get as much as they wanted - forget about it.

That's what I told the old man.  Look again.
