Hi
I recently sold some stuff on everyones favourite auction site
P and P to Europe was clearly stated
Its actually at cost, or even a small loss, with a Parcelfarce service from my local posties
So predictably some tosser from Europe snipes, wins and immediately Paypals me the cost of the auction plus half of my advertised postage suggesting I use a different service
My ad clearly states Parcelfarce are expensive but if you dont want to pay then dont bid as in my opinion they are safe from my point of view
I emailed him back and all of a sudden his English isnt as good as it used to be
Im p1ssed off to say the least
Advice welcome
Can I paypal his cash back to him and tell him to stuff it?
And what can I do to protect myself from negative feedback?
Thanks in advance
yes you can refund him - upto you
or you could advise you are more than happy to use a different service than the one on the auction, but you cannot guarantee delivery of the item?!
good luck 😉

Suggest to him that he arranges the courier?
However - given that he already swinging the lead - I wouldn't trust him now, refund him & do a 2nd chance offer to the next [s]mug[/s] punter.
Had the same problem last year, I sent back his paypal payment told him/her the reason no problems. I now refuse to post outside GB to much hassle.
Tell you are planning to post it via pigeon courier and explain that its cheaper than parcleforce.
You have giving the pigeon some extra seeds and told him to not fly over Spain or Greece so hopefully you item will not get peppered with lead shot!
(tell him to pay the correct amount, what a twunt!)
Refund him, if he leaves neg feedback contact Ebay and have it removed as you'll have to state a reason for cancelling the contract when you do it. If you've nothing to hide then there's no problem.
If the auction clearly states conditions and he does not abide by those conditions, do a refund and add him to your banned list, then do a 2nd chance offer to your next bidder if its close - no point getting into negotiations or an argument, seems to happen a lot these days, value of the £ perhaps ?
D.
Is this issue really to do with the 'buyer' being a foreigner though or just that they are a d*ck?
These types of issues are just as common with UK based bidders no?
Write a clear email to the auction winner describing what you intend to do, ask for a response within a set time frame. If they accept your original terms proceed - if not, refund and hope you can find a 2nd buyer...
Its not just a problem with foreigners, but I cant imagine it being anything do with the pound. If anything, they will be doing better because the Euro is much higher against the pound than last year.
Tell him he has to pay the designated price, collect it himself or get a refund. If its set out its set out for your piece of mind. Like a shop, you have every right to refuse the sale.
