So I bought a 7th gen iPod nano which arrived yesterday - described as in excellent condition and the pictures looked ok. I switched it on yesterday when it arrived and on screens with a white background there is clearly an issue with the lcd screen - I guess it’s some dead pixels. So you have a big mark down the middle of the screen. If I could guarantee it wouldn’t get worse I’d probably just get on with it but it could get worse and the cheapest repair online seems to be £55 plus p&p. A brand new iPod is only about £120 so it’s not really economical.
The pictures on the advert don’t show the issue - but they are taken on screens where there are strong colours showing - not on white background screens where you can see them. So the seller is denying there is an issue and refusing a return.
I’ve opened a case with eBay and the seller is still insisting it was tested and working before sending (I think it’s an individual not a shop - and they haven’t fully wiped the iPod so it still has a guy’s name in the settings).
What happens next if we don’t reach agreement - do I have to wait for eBay to make a judgement on it? Presumably as I have attached photos of the fault they’re going to rule in my favour?
Thanks
They are highly likely to find in your favour. It will take a while as they prefer you to resolve it yourselves so give time for that. You'll also probably need to return it before you get a refund. Use the eBay return process so you are covered as much as possible.
Ok cheers. It’s a bit annoying as I bought it and sold my 6th gen nano at the same time - I want to start running once a week or so to lose some lbs but I like Bluetooth headphones since I’ve recently started using them with my phone (which is a bit bulky to run with).
Guess I’ll just sit tight for now and wait for the process to work through.
