So I sold an item on best offer, posted it normal 2nd class, after about a week the buyer said they hadn't received it. So being a honest kind if chap I posted another (via 2nd class), 6 days later they opened a case saying it hadn't arrived again. I don't believe that 2 small parcels to the same address would get lost and I genuinely think they're telling porkies to get a refund and keep the goods.
Where do I stand?
Tracked postage is for you not them...
you're buggered IMO
Maybe send another one by 2nd class mail. 3rd time lucky
Maybe send
another onea massive turd by 2nd class mail. 3rd time lucky
Take it up with the courier?
If the item was under £20 it is covered by Royal Mail if you can get the buyer to officially state they did not receive the items.
Did you keep the postal receipts? 2nd class packets aren't tracked as such, but they do benefit from "delivery confirmation". Go to the RM website and enter the parcel reference. If they've delivered or tried to deliver the parcel, they'll show you.
Online delivery confirmation* is available on Royal Mail 2nd Class parcels. Online delivery confirmation shows you when your item has been delivered or attempted to be delivered.
This isn't a tracked service. Information will only be available online at the point Royal Mail try to - or successfully - deliver your item.
.
Technically you can make them wait the X number of days Royal Mail state have to pass before an item is officially lost. I think its 20-something days? Was your return address on the package?
Two packets to the same address being lost is indeed unlikely - unless they gave you the wrong address? It's happened before!
Just thought balls to it and refunded the clearly untrustworthy so and so. It wasn't a lot of money.
Means no issues with my ebay account, which is worth more in the long run.
Refund from RM
My wife runs here own business and when this happens she emails them back that she’ll check the tracking with RM (doesn’t matter if it’s tracked) and open an investigation. Almost always arrives within the hour weirdly.
Block them from buying on your ebay block list. Sorry, cant really get anything back on this as unrecorded post has no way of saying it arrived or not, unless the postman of that area remembers it specifically, which itself is unlikely
Chalk it up as experience, and only use a recorded service(I use 2nd class recorded for most things- Costs £4)
1st and 2nd class small parcels gives you proof of postage and lets you check when it's delivered, (no need to pay for signed) 1st class Large letter doesn't but you can claim upto £20 back. So always get postage receipt.

Not correct, sorry. I copied and pasted from the RM website in my earlier post. Here's a link, so you can read it yourself https://www.postoffice.co.uk/mail/uk-standard
We've posted stuff to son, not recorded, just need a declaration of what was in it and that it hadn't arrived, get a refund.
