I've got a non-working/spare or repairs Genelec studio monitor on Ebay, and a couple of Chinese bidders seem to be having a bit of a battle over it. That bit is good, as I'll make some money on it 🙂
However, I've specified UK postage only and have everything other than UK and Europe blocked in my settings, so how come they are able to bid on the item? Might they be based in China, but have a UK postage address? Bit worried that they're going to expect me to send it to China, which is going to cost loads!
Email them and ask?
Have done, no reply yet.
I assumed that they shouldn't have been able to bid if their postage address was outside the UK though.
I had two auctions won by foreign bidders last week. They used the international distribution hub, which meant I only paid for the postage to Derby. The buyer paid for the onwards postage.
It seems to have gone alright so far, i.e. I haven't heard any more about it.
Matt
Yep, it'll shop via ebays GSP program. Used it a few times with no issues. EBay essentially accept liability for the shipment once it leaves the UK so very little comeback on you.
If that is so then cool 😀 a;ready up to £100 with 2 hours to go.
I was expecting £50-60 tops. In full working condition they go for £200ish each, so people are probably hoping it's an easy fix, but I have no idea, as I haven't opened it up.
I assume that if an item is sold as 'for parts or not working' then buyers have no comeback if it's not easily fixable?
