A few days ago, I committed to buy something from seller in Greece. I have bought numerous things from him before with no problem. In fact, he has always responded quickly, and diligently, and sent out the items with no problems at all.

A few days ago, I tried to buy something else from him, and (As it always has), the check-out process requires that he add on the postage before I can pay. So first he would have got the message as part of the check-out process itself, but since, I have sent him about three additional messages through eBay, asking that he let me know what the charges are so I can finally pay and receive my purchase.

For the first time, though, he hasn't responded. To anything. And now I notice he hasn't received any feedback within the last 3 months.

Would you assume that he has gone out of business? I mean, his listing are all still there, but he has never delayed like this before. How long is it reasonable to wait before I assume that I won't be hearing from him again? And since I already committed to pay (but haven't yet, as the check-out process won't let me until I get postage costs), if I do decide that he won't be responding, is there anything I have to do to close the transaction?

Any advice appreciated.

If he doesn't respond, you can retract your bid stating no response from seller.
