Ideally, yes - we've got a holiday cottage booked, the in laws are coming and have offered to mind the kids...

+1 The Joiners Arms

Also the Ship Inn at Low Newton is very good if you can get in.

If it must be Seahouses, the best food is probably The Links followed by The Olde Ship. Not much more than decent pub grub though.

Links doesn't have much character and the Olde Ship has beautiful views from the beer garden if the weather is good.

Anyway, what are you doing in Northumberland? It's horrible, vile and miserable. I would cancel and stay away if I was you.

Curry? We got a good curry in Seahouses last year, takeaway though so can't speak for the service in the restaurant.

No. It's awful, much like that whole area. You really should just avoid it. Stay at home instead. Nothing to see up there, no siree. Nothing at all.

Ahem.

Northumberland is, actually crap. Fact. Still [s]lurds[/s] loads of pit heaps & the weather's usually crap. Nowt to see or do, no decent beaches at all.
It's got a castle but It's ancient & falling to bits.
Stay away, go to Scarborough or something.

We go to the area every year, staying near Morpeth for a week in a few weeks time. Eaten out loads but never found anywhere great in Seahouses. The Indian we reckoned to be quite poor. Ship and Joiners very good as above.

Elan Pizzeria is quite nice, best to book as can get busy, worth going just to see the hyper owner. There's not a dish leaves the kitchen without him having to add a bit of pepper or extra leaves to the salad.

Just come back from Seahouses. The Links near the roundabout past the Co op was good. Never managed to get in at the Ship for food, only drinks.
The Bamburgh opposite the Ship was popular but the food was not as good as the Links.
Its Chips with everything.

Coming from the area, I never could understand why people would travel to the north east coast to go on holiday. The beach at Bamburgh is nice, that's about it. Food-wise fish and chips is probably your best bet.
