If you’re Echo Arena way I’d head to Bold Street 10 minute walk and see what takes your fancy. If you just want food to fill up there’s the Marina or Pumphouse pub. Curry house round the back of the Arena but never been. It’s all a bit “convention” round there.

Was at a conference there earlier in the year.

Mowgli - Indian "street food." Despite the ****y name, absolutely top notch.

Also went to Meet - Argentinian barbecue place. The short rib was pretty tasty.

I'll second the Meet recommendation.

The Thai on Chavesse park and eastZeast curry house opposite the arena are good, but big spaces designed for groups. In L1, Salt House Tapas and Lunya are good tapas.

If you just want burger and beer, it looks like Baltic Fleet don't serve food now? So Ship and Mitre but longer walk.

The places around James / Castle / Water Street are usually good. San Carlo for upmarket Italian, Olive / Fonseca more reasonable, Meet and another bbq grill, good Japanese (Etsu), and Mowgli street food.
