Does anyone else do this or is it just me? 🙂
I'll go though stages whereby I eat properly and exercise regularly and i'm able to keep in the habit of doing so. Then, every now and again I'll completely pig out on crap and do zero exercise at all & it's not just for a day or so it can be for a couple of weeks or more at a time before I slowly get back to 'normal'. I can also sometimes go the other way and exercise too much by cycling, running etc without eating the right foods or enough food in an attempt to gain uber fitness!
How do you maintain a good exercise/eating balance I suppose i'm asking without taking it too far, burning out and then feeling the urge to binge! any tips appreciated... (sorry if this has been done).

Willpower?
Willpower and also look at films like Gladiator and 300 and the like and then you come away thinking **** me their muscular and you'll have a day or two of the sudden erge to get fit again by which time you should be back into your normal routine.
Works for me
Well, I reckon you're exercising too much and not eating enough when you are going through an exercise stage. You deplete your body stores to the point where you just can't cope, you feel worse (either physically or mentally) and give up. You might be able to reduce this effect by taking carbs whilst riding and recovery drink afterwards.
I've only ever had good results with weight by being consistent.
Everthing in moderation, if you deny yourself something you become obsessed and then binge. Part of the benefits of a generally healthy lifestyle is being able to eat the occasional junk food meal and it not be a problem.
Everthing in moderation, or eat lots, ride lots 🙂
Cheers - I agree with the willpower comment, I definitely need more of it ! I have this theory that I may just be a fatboy in disguise... thank god for cycling 🙂
I don't need any willpower to exercise because I love cycling. The only time I go 2 days without riding is if I go on a skiing holiday. It might only be riding to work but it gives me my fix of riding.
to give up beer, cheese, junk food etc - now that require will power.
