So heading to watch Bicep at Ally Pally tomorrow (Saturday). Will be getting the train into Marylebone, and looking for somewhere to eat/drink between there and Ally Pally, plus obviously central London/Soho.

Needs to cater for carnivores and vegans. Obvious choise is a Wagamamasor Pizza Express but wondered if anyone had any recommendations for something that's not a chain.

Also any decent boozers that I can pop into for a cheeky pint or two.

Not been to London for about 4 years hence the queries.

Cheers.

Maybe look for a decent Turkish restaurant in the Wood Green area? Not been up there for a while but a good one is light years from a kebab shop.

Loads of options along Green Lanes, from Enfield to Newington Green.

For a boozer, I'd suggest my old local The Salisbury Hotel in Harringay. Have a look at the pics:

If you are passing through Soho there are several all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets in Chinatown. Been to a few now and they've all been good, not exceptional, but decent food. If you don't take the all you can eat aspect as a challenge its a good way to have a wide variety of tasty food. Good for a mixed group. If you wander into Chinatown there's loads of food places.

Royal China in Baker Street is one of my favourites, 10 mins walk from Marylebone train station

Depending on budget, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time was at Lahpet. One in the east end and one I think now at Covent Garden.

Pellicis is fab but out of your way, bagel bakery is round the corner tho.

For a Soho curry my go to place is govindas just n of Soho square. Cheap as chips.

Then a coffee after at bar Italia.

Good area for record shops too, rough trade and sister ray.

Enjoy the gig

I'd either head to somewhere like Wood Green and get a greek/turkish/cypriot meal. The food there is AMAZING, there is a huge community there so the food is fantastic. Most places are good, I haven't had a bad meal there. Then walk to Ally Pally from Wood Green, it's not far.

Other option is go to Muswell Hill, have a meal and drinks, then walk to Ally Pally. Somewhere cheap and cheerful is La Porchetta, it's an italian place with good pizzas although I haven't been in a few years

When I lived in Crouch End I ate here so much I was on first name terms with the chef. Marvellous, and pretty close to Ally Pally:

Thanks for all the suggestions. Thinking of heading for something mediteraninan around Wood Green and a pre-gig drink at the Sailsbury Hotel.
