As per title, MrsMC are continuing our explore of fading seaside grandeur with a couple of nights in Weston this week, will be needing ideas for coffees, breakfasts and pub style dining.
What do we know?
Sakura, Japanese restaurant, you'll need to book even in midweek. Strangely there are three Japanese restaurants in Weston.
Papas for fish and chips, can eat in.
If you head east towards the levels the Frankie Howerd cafe, yes, that Frankie Howerd.
I have visited a few times in winter months, the town centre towards the sea front does feel struggling. Winter doesn't help there. So I don't have any recommendations for the town sorry. But places like Uphill have a decent cafe and pubs, maybe worth a half day up the hill and on the beach and get a bus back to town. A lot of the nicer pubs are in the surrounding villages (or suburbs that used to be villages) especially towards the Mendips hills.
If you want suggested walks / things to see in area just shout.
Worth popping along to Burnham and grabbing lunch in the café next to the BARB hovercraft and lifeboat place, they probably won’t be open at this time of year, but if they are, it’s worth having a look and making a donation, they do valuable work rescuing people from the mud during the holiday season.
Then drive along to Brean and walk up onto Brean Down; it’s a mile and a half out to the old Victorian fort at the far end, and at the trig point you’re 97m, 318ft above the Bristol Channel, looking across to Cardiff.
On a clear day, you can see Glastonbury Tor!
I’ve walked from Burnham to Brean and back along the beach - it’s about 12 miles on sand, I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re certain your knees are in good condition! 😖
Back in September '20, we caught a bus from WSM to Cheddar, to walk up part of the gorge. I'd already ridden it in both directions that holiday, but walking by those shear cliffs is something else!

Just had a thought, if you’ve got time, after lunch, walk along the beach towards Berrow, and have a look at the old Victorian lighthouse - it’s a rather wonderful building, and is still used for ships navigating the channel into the River Parret to Bridgewater.

Some nice suggestions there thank you

About half of that is an actual NCR, I really wouldn't recommend you ride it unless on an E Fatbike. Serious hard work.
Looks hard sand, but not on 2.35 mtb tyres
Slightly concerned that our pub/hotel has GB News on in the bar area.....
Papas for fish and chips was a great shout!
