Wired (powerline) internet connection at home. Mrs Breathe has just waltzed in with a iPad last week witch is basically an expensive bit of plastic/metal without a wireless connection.
Presuming I can just plug in some sort of wireless access point/router thingy into a spare ethernet port on the modem and get the iPad connected.
Any suggestions/recommendations?
Did have a Solwise Ethernet wireless thingy a while ago but gave up trying to get it to work with the router, might have to dig it out of the loft unless there's a simpler way.
Ta.
You can get wireless Powerline plugs. Might not be the cheapest but it'll probably be the neatest.
What's the 'modem', does that not have WiFi built in? Most modern home routers do.
if you have a mac plugged into the ethernet it can act as a wifi router.
Nah, it's a powerline modem so purely wired connection.
I'll go and dig out the old wireless powerline plug and have another play with it.
If you need a router, my Belkin works fine, I'd imagine they are all much of a muchness.
Find something cheap, google it to check it's not a turkey, click "buy".
Simples.

Oh man, now that's a good reason to go out and get a Mac....
well i wasn't suggesting you went out and bought one just for that.

I know you weren't but now you've got me tempted. The missus was liking them in the shop so she wouldn't mind, I'm sure!
