I'm partial to a Ribera del Duero but there's something about an old Rioja that just makes it extra special

I have known a local wine merchant for about 30 years and she recently did me a deal to buy Vega Sicilia Unico and Valbuena at cost price! The price was still...ouch!

I suspect my children will be drinking them at my wake!

In my lifetime...Pesquera 2003, Castillo Ygay 1998, La Rioja Alta 904 2011.

Well the belly pork was good but I think there is enough meat left to last to Paris-Roubaix. Crackling was excellent and I have a nice cup of dripping for snacking on.
