Have I missed the memo on this or something?. Never heard of it until this year, but now even aunties weather forecast is talking of Easter Day.
Quite odd. Used to be Easter Sunday I'm sure.
Maybe they decided to do away with the Sun for this year...
I noticed that as well, maybe to make it more like Christmas day, but I'm not sure why.
+1
Noticed it on the weather forecast last night.
It's a migration to a settled calendar for Easter. All that mucking about with phases of the moon means the date keeps changing - it really is a movable feast. It screws up school holidays, businesses etc. By dropping "sun" from Easter Sunday, that'll let it be any day of the week. In some places, the same has already happened to Good "Fri"day. I'm sure you've had someone wish you "Good day" before?
Settled? It's bloody 16th April next year!.
Easter Day is the correct term, I believe, my father used to get vexed by people saying Easter Sunday.
Mefty - ye learn something every day!
(If that's true!)
Easter Day is correct, by definition its a Sunday
As an aside here is one of my favourite Mumford and Sons songs. Roll Away the Stone refers to the resurection. Which is what we celebrate on Easter Day/Sunday
that's better 🙂
That's the most pish cover version I've ever heard!
🙂
I know you really shouldn't go me too but
