So if someone had an airline explode at work at 100psi next to their head (not their fault!) and now they have ringing in their ears how long should that last for? Feels like they are sat in a tube and everything is muffled except a high pitched hum
They are very angry! But is carefully wording things as they aren't allowed to talk about work on the internet.
I suggest someone see a specialist, as there is a risk some damage has been done.
I had a similar thing, different circumstances, but very bad tinnitus, which eventually subsided. But see a specialist. I went private to save time, because I only have the one set of ears.
Good luck, and someone has my sympathies, cos I know how uncomfortable it is. Hope the symptoms subside soon.
That doesn’t sound good (pun probably not intended). I’d be off to the doc, or better yet a specialist as DK recommends. Precious things, ears...
Could be a burst eardrum.
Perforated eardrum would be my guess. I've had one and it fits your symptoms. Go see a Dr.
Definitely a doctor. And it should be recorded in the work place. Should that person have any sort of concerns in the future, injury needs to have been logged. Obviously, IANAL.
Make sure it's recorded in the accident book !!
Yes gp for a referral to a specialist. I have suffered an ear problem and been to doc a few times, each time he just looks in and says all looks ok but go and see a speacialist. When said problem flares up it's a nightmare so get it seen to.
Definitely this "Make sure it’s recorded in the accident book !!"
Has it been reported to HSE surely it a RIDDOR event?

yeap ^ can't edit that mess^
Eyes seem to be reportable. Ears not so much
Had similar last week and gp classed it as urgent need, same day appointment. Mine wasn't perforated though, probably a eustachian tube problem.
Please see a specialist asap. I didn't and ended up with 3 operations and now, sadly, mono hearing and constant, though bearable, tinnitus. Admittedly mine became infected as a result of inaction but don't mess about man, get it seen to.
I would not panic about seeing a doc unless it does not go away in a day or so - however it MUST be reported in the internal procedures as an accident and an injury accident as you are injured Unlikely to be permanent damage but possible.
