DVD boxsets - how to spot a counterfeit copy?

Looking for a boxset of Better Call Saul for a gift I notice that the mainstream vendors have it at £70-80, but there are some lesser known sellers pricing it at £25-£30. Same on eBay -

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=better+call+saul+boxset+1-6&_sacat=0&_sop=15

I'm assuming the cheaper priced ones are all dodgy counterfeit copies but if so - how do I spot the difference, or have I just got to buy from HMV etc? Secondly, how do they get away with selling them so blatantly if they are copies?

I mean the fact they all say this on the description

Note:The DVD is Region 1 and is a cracked version, which can be played in the UK and all regions

somewhat gives it away!!

who still watches DVDs tho? Can you not just buy them a couple of months sub to Netflix and they can binge it all 🙂

Market places like ebay and amazon leave it to the customers to do their due diligence for them. You read the listing, understand it to be counterfeit, but unless you, or someone, tells ebay, ebay doesn't know and can't act, but if they know they're usually pretty quick taking the listing down - but its easy for sellers to put another up

(Mind you, you can tell Amazon all you want and they won't act usually)
