Just watched S1 of "Community", and very good it was too IMO.

Think early scrubs, but a little wackier/darker and without any poxy moralising (some ironic moralising tho).

Any other good but little-known comedy series out there? (Have started re-watching The Wire...)

Community is great.
IME, best bet is to google how to reset your dvd player to region 0 then buy a community series 2 dvd american import from amazon. Cheap too, for the number of episodes.
Word of warning- don't believe the hype about "eastbound and down". Amazon/Play will probably link/recomend to it based on Community, but it's poo.

Not a comedy, but I've become addicted to Mad Men.

Have you seen Flight of the Conchords ? Not everyone's cup of tea, and lots of Kiwi in jokes, but very very funny.

Community is great! I love Chevy Chases' character and was surprised to find that Troy is Childish Gambino in real life. Alison Brie is delicious though isn't she?
Have you seen Arrested Development? If not, it's worth a go.

Mad Men...watched a few, just did not get it or like it.

May try FOC, I have it in my mind that it's a bit naff for some reason tho.

Wilfred. Original, very different and laugh out loud funny.

And if you're a fan of old B movies, then Garth Marenghi's Dark Place is excellent.

Currently enjoying The Big Bang Theory, very geeky but brilliantly written and casted.

One of the best comedy series ever written, but little heard of - Sean Lock's "Fifteen Storeys High". Absolute genius.

Weeds.

Six Feet Under, though I'm not really sure if it's a comedy, just darkly humorous.

Big bang theory is a very good shout.
Probably the most similar style of comedy to Community, with lots of in-jokes, cultural-refferences, a bit of geekery, and all based around a core of funny characters and their interaction.
15 stories high is brilliant too, but in a different "Brittish" style.

Weeds is probably one of my favourite shows. Well worth a watch if you haven't ever seen it.

Mad men series 1 was a slow burner, series 2 it really improves I think.
